Q: What is your favorite thing about working at Delaware Tech?

"As an English instructor, my favorite thing is helping students become more confident writers. A majority of my students initially do not feel that they are good writers and are unsure of how to make progress. 然而,, once we work with various strategies and tools, they start seeing marked improvement and start believing in their abilities."

Q: Why was it important for you to work at Delaware Tech?

"I truly enjoy working with our diverse population of students, with community college students, with nontraditional students. It's important for me to work here at Del Tech because I know I can make the most impact here with our students."

Q: What did you do before working at Delaware Tech?

"Before coming to Del Tech, I taught English at Sus性 Central High School for eleven years."

Q: Describe your first day at Delaware Tech. What was that experience like?

"I remember being greeted by so many friendly colleagues. They were so welcoming and excited to have me join the team. I also remember walking into ETB 700 and seeing that we had a breakfast buffet. That was really nice."

Q: What changes have you seen in yourself since you started working here?

"When I first started teaching, I focused a lot on being overprepared for class with plenty of activities and worksheets and ways that I could completely direct the day’s lesson. As I’ve gained more experience, I now encour年龄 plenty of discussion in the classroom, allowing students to eng年龄 in the process of critical thinking. I want students to share more of their ideas, 问题, 斗争, and solutions to problems so that we all learn from one another."

Q: What hobbies or interests do you have outside of the College?

"I read every day (especially novels dealing with horror or the supernatural). I recently started golfing and fully enjoy the amount of concentration and focus on mechanics, as well its unforgiving nature."

Q: Do you have a favorite memory from your time at Delaware Tech thus far?

"One of my favorite memories is volunteering for the Gourmet Gala. It was so much fun spending time with colleagues at a celebratory event. Everyone was dressed very elegantly, there was live music, dancing, delicious food. I wish we could hang out like that more often!"

Q: What's something people may not know about you?

"That I am a huge fan of horror movies. I probably watch 2-3 a week."

Q: What are your future goals?

"To finish writing a novel and spend more time relaxing by an outdoor firepit next to a lake."
