Brenton Whitney

Brenton Whitney joined Delaware Tech in March 2020. Prior to working at the College, Brenton served as the assistant branch manager for SiteOne Landscape Supply for four years. He enjoys being a member of the facilities team and feeling like a member of the Delaware Tech family. Outside of work, Brenton enjoys weightlifting and doing yard work. His future goals include continuing to grow in the facilities department and improving the landscape and visual appeal of the campus. He is also interested in teaching in the future.


Q: Why was it important for you to work at Delaware Tech?

It was important for me to work at Delaware Tech because I wanted to work for a company that gives back to the community and has passion for their “clients” aka students.

Q: What did you do before working at Delaware Tech?

I spent 16 years working at several high-end golf courses in the Mid-Atlantic region, serving in roles as intern, Assistant Superintendent in Training, Assistant Superintendent, and Golf Course Superintendent.

Q: What changes have you seen in yourself since you started working here?

I really take pride in my work and it is great to see our ideas come to life on campus.  

Q: What hobbies or interests do you have outside of the College?

I train every day and would love to compete soon. My goal is the have the best grass in the neighborhood.

Q: Do you have a favorite memory from your time at Delaware Tech thus far?

One of my favorite memories thus far is being able to work with an agriculture student who was finishing his degree. It was a rewarding experience to be able to share my experiences with him and help him grow.

Q: What’s something people may not know about you?

I was born and raised in upstate New York.
